In the first quarter of 2024, the tower defense genre has shown interesting trends in the United States across the unified platforms of iOS and Android. Data from Sensor Tower provides us with a snapshot of how five leading games have performed in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
Plants vs. Zombies™ showed a consistent download trend, starting the quarter with around 70K and ending with a slight increase to 67K. Revenue fluctuated, peaking at nearly $4K in late February, while weekly active users declined from 432K to 386K over the quarter.
The sequel, Plants vs. Zombies™ 2, experienced a weekly download range between 46K and 51K. Revenue saw an upward trend, jumping from $80K in the first week of January to $117K by the end of March. The game’s active users remained relatively stable, with a slight decrease from 349K to 337K.

Lastly, Bloons TD 6 NETFLIX, despite generating no revenue, maintained a steady download rate, ending the quarter with a spike at nearly 50K. The game’s active users saw a gradual increase from 233K to 269K.
